Petr Čermák joined the project team as a coordinator in April 2020. Petr is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno and junior researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. His research is focused on the role of ethnic politics and power-sharing mechanisms in post-conflict areas of the Western Balkans, with a special emphasis on its local level dimensions. He has conducted extensive field research in different regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. The findings of his research were published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.


Petr graduated in International Relations at Masaryk University in Brno. He also had an opportunity to study and conduct his research at universities in Sarajevo, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Graz and Tirana. Besides his academic activities, he worked on several political campaigns and civil society projects in the Czech Republic.
